March/April Report:

March was month of Public Speaking for the Amisk Beef Club. We hosted our club speak offs and the Provost District Speak Offs. Results of our club speak offs:

Congratulations to Dulcie Turner, Heather Froland and Samara Froland for placing at Districts and qualifing for Regionals.

Meetings were held on March 7th and April 11th at the Amisk arena.

April 17th the Provost District held their first Judging Competition at the new 4-H Barn at Shorncliff Lake. The weather was excellent and the event was a success. Approximately 40 4-H members attended from the East Central Region. Classes judged were: Aged Riding Horses, Lawn Mowers, Quilting, Yearling Bulls, and Predator Control Ammunition. While waiting for the results of the competition, the Hughenden Ag. Society put on a Farm Safety and First Aid presentation. Awards were presented and the Amisk Club did very well in the Junior and Senior judging. All the members from the Amisk club that had attended had received an award for judging. Great Job! Members attended (Hannah, Dulcie, Luke, Kolby, Devon J, Heather, Devon F, Wyatt, and Samara.)

Upcoming Events:

Floor Hockey Tournament -cancelled

April 25th - Mock Achievement - at the new 4-H Building at Shorncliff Lake 1:00 p.m. – Mock Showing Halter Making and Weiner Roast Potluck to follow. Club Meeting to follow potluck.

May 3rd – District Painting Bee - 4:00 pm at 4-H building, we will be painting the Rodeo Grounds and Area Pipe. District meeting to follow.

May 10 & 13th – District Carcass Projects Live judging at 6:00 pm at Provost Livestock Exchange. District Beef meeting to follow. Carcass Viewing and Results at Bouma Meats 6:00 pm

Achievement Day & Grand Opening:
June 2nd – Achievement Day
Heifer Show Wednesday 6:30 show and weigh-in 4:00-6:00pm

June 3rd - Achievement Day
Steer Show & Sale Weigh-In 7:30-9:00 am /> Club Shows begin at 10:00 am
Grand Opening & Supper at 5:00 pm
Sale at 6:00 pm
