Amisk Club held its organizational meeting October 31, 2011. We are pleased to welcome two new members, both juniors—Milan Cuthbert and Tayten Dyck.

Weigh-in was held at Johnson’s on November 20, 2011. We had 12 market steers, 4 carcass steers, and 4 heifers weigh-in besides some companion steers. It is always fun to see what other members have chosen for their projects!

For the second year, our club hosted the Amisk Santa Day in Amisk. There was lots of Christmas crafts and baking to buy. The kids had a good time crafting and watching Cars Two. Thank-you to Mr. Jack Roworth and his team of horses for bringing Santa and for giving rides to all the kids.

Instead of exchanging Christmas gifts between members, we decided to pick kids off of the Credit Union Christmas tree and buy them gifts! We had our Christmas party Jan 4 at the Communiplex in Wainwright. We played Wally ball (ouch!), ate yummy pizza and then went swimming. It was super fun!!

On January 7th three members from our club (Milan, Dulcie and Hannah) participated in East Central 4-H Fun Day at Stettler and, boy was it fun!! There was leather making, photo albums, leather braiding, swimming and lots more! There were about 200 kids present. It was great seeing old friends and making new ones. Best of all it was FREE thanks to Ag Societies across the region who had donated. A HUGE thanks to Metiskow and District Ag Society, Czar Ag Society, and Provost Ag Society for donating to the Fun Day.
