February Club Report

Our 4-H Beef Club started the year on October 21, 2012. We have a very young club this year since we gained 4 cleaver kids and lost 5 seniors. Elections were held with the following results: Luke Holte - President, Seth Holte - Vice President, Dulcie Turner - Secretary, and Milan Cuthbert - Treasurer.

On November 17, we collected just over 6500 kg of tires for recycling. This was one of our fundraising projects.

Our weigh-in day was November 26. Thanks to Byron and Bernice Johnson for the use of their facilities.

We hosted the Amisk Santa Day with the help of the Village of Amisk. For the kids, there was popcorn and a movie, a free hot dog lunch, a craft table, wagon rides and a visit from Santa Claus. The turnout was awesome and everyone had a really good day.

We had our Christmas Party on December 29 at the Wainwright Communiplex. We played wallyball, ate pizza and went swimming. We also purchased gifts for the less fortunate kids in our community.

On January 5, 2013 we went to the Stettler Fun Day. Some of the highlights were making duct tape wallets and marshmallow catapults.

We hosted a Bingo night on January 25, 2013 as another fundraising project. We played lots of bingo games, handed out prizes and served lunch.

On February 1, we had the privilege of going skiing at Table Mountain thanks to the District. It was a really fun day.

Some of our members attended 4-H Winter Camp. It was a lot of fun.

Our Club speak-offs are coming up fast, March 6, so we are all putting the finishing touches on our speeches and presentations. Good luck to all our members.

With the warmer weather lately, we are looking forward to spring. Achievement Day will be here before we know it.
